I didn't know my potential until I came to study pharmacy at UB. The faculty, staff, and curriculum are fantastic. We are able to study with medical students because they know how rigorous and aggressive our program is.
What makes us great? Small classes, the best students, faculty who are specialists in their field—it's like a private school education with public school costs.
One of my clinical rotations was in the emergency room—critical care medicine. That's where I found out how integral the pharmacist is to the health care team. When physicians have to work quickly to save a patient's life, they need to know they can rely on the expertise of a pharmacist to help determine the most effective means of drug therapy. This is where I saw my education in action and knew that all the hard work I put into my program paid off.
At first, I wanted to go to medical school—then I thought, "I'm getting to do everything I want in pharmacy." Coming to UB's School of Pharmacy was the right choice for me.
