Gayle Brazeau, Ph.D.
Associate Dean for Academic Affairs
Program: Pharmacy Practice / Pharmaceutical Sciences
Associate Professor: Dosage Forms (tablets and capsules), Drug and Alcohol Abuse
I became a pharmacy professor because I wanted to feel that I made a difference and to know that I helped create great leaders. It's also important in a program this challenging to help our students to feel comfortable in the presence of professors, to recognize achievement, and to help those who are successful and those who may be struggling.
Our program is special because we demand excellence and we make a commitment to make our future pharmacists as successful as they can be. Our graduates have strong foundations in science and good patient skills. It's gratifying to teach someone to become a pharmacist because you know they'll be taking care of all of us—it's like making an investment in the future of health care.
Every class has a president, a vice president, a secretary, a treasurer, and a curriculum coordinator. Our dean meets with the officers to discuss what goes on in classes. I personally have an open door policy and spend about twenty hours per week advising and meeting with students.
