Pharmaceutical Sciences: About the Department

Founded by notable pioneers in the field of pharmaceutical sciences, including Gerhard Levy, Eino Nelson and Milo Gibaldi, the department has upheld a tradition of excellence over its half-century of existence. Its graduates continue to maintain leadership positions in academia, industry and government. The department is one of the largest of its kind, and is among the best funded (both by NIH and industry) in the country. Different to many PhD’s in other fields of science, our graduates are highly sought after for employment by industry, without the need for post-doctoral training. Graduates who prefer an academic career also find many offers of postdoctoral fellowships. Details about various aspects of the department can be found via the indicated links on this page.
