Pharmaceutical Care Learning Center


The Pharmaceutical Care Learning Center is designed as a facility used to educate Doctor of Pharmacy Students and Pharmacy Professionals in the provision of pharmaceutical care. Pharmaceutical Care is the integration of pharmacy knowledge, skills and attitudes in order to provide optimal patient care and therapeutic outcomes in the varied pharmacy environments ranging from community to institutional to long-term care and home health care. This state of the art facility will provide students with the opportunity for on-hands learning in the advancing areas of novel and current prescription and drug distribution systems, patient records and documentation systems, patient assessment and patient assessment technologies, point of care assessment technologies, drug information systems and patient counseling methods and technology. The Pharmaceutical Care Learning Center will provide a structured learning environment to allow current and future pharmacy practitioners to develop and further enhance their professional skills in order to be able to provide optimized individualized patient care in a changing health care environment.
