Costs, Financial Aid & Awards
A University at Buffalo education is an
excellent value. As a public university, our tuition and fees are only a fraction of the cost of
attending a private college or university of comparable quality
and opportunity. While actual expenses will vary based on
lifestyle, the undergraduate estimated costs of attendance should assist in
planning your own budget. The estimated budgets represent full
time attendance for the upcoming Fall and Spring academic terms
and are made up of direct (tuition and fees) and indirect costs
(housing, board, books and supplies, personal and miscellaneous,
transportation, and origination fee).
Financial Aid
If you need additional help financing your
education, U.S. citizens should apply for financial aid by
filling out a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
online. The FAFSA is an application for student aid that
collects the basic information needed to determine your
eligibility for all of the financial aid programs sponsored by
the federal government. You may receive more detailed information
by visiting UB’s Student Response Center website or by
calling (716) 645-2450 or (toll free) 1-866-838-7257.
Scholarships & Awards
The department receives grants from various
sources to promote academic excellence at all levels of
education. In the past year, scholarships and awards were
provided for the B.S. Program, including Bristol Meyer Squibb
poster competition; Jones Award; and Competitive undergraduate
research grants supported by Pfizer, AFPE-AAPS. For the B.S.-M.S.
Program, scholarships from Bristol Meyer Squibb, Merck, Cognigen
were awarded.
